Holistic Health

Holism is the common name of philosophical approaches that emphasize the view that the whole is something beyond the parts that make it up. According to this approach, the whole cannot be understood by analyzing only its component parts. All the elements that we can hear and see the truth constitute the whole. From this perspective, the holistic approach also maintains its validity in the field of medicine.

The main theme of Holistic Health is not “How do we treat the disease” but “How do we protect health”. The right thing to do is to stay healthy and well with preventive health measures instead of expensive and specialized treatments before the person is sick. To be completely healthy both physically and mentally.

Stress Management

A person seeks harmony in the work environment. Lack of harmony is a source of stress and creates an obstacle that prevents them from working. It is generally more common in countries where unemployment is widespread and in periods of economic crisis.

There are also sources of stress resulting from the individual and the situation they are in. People exhibit behaviors related to their personalities. In order to manage stress, we must first know ourselves fully. Habits such as drugs, alcohol, cigarettes and, when overdone, coffee and television can actually turn into situations that prevent us from seeing the cause of the negativities that happen to us.

Basic suggestions for coping with stress:
·       Know yourself and the so-called stress-causing environmental conditions well.

·       Be at peace with yourself and other people, love yourself first.

·       Be self-critical and do not expect to be loved by everyone.

·       Do not see yourself as indispensable.

·        Be grateful from the heart for what you have.

·        When you want more, patiently move forward step by step.

·        Don't be sad for what you have lost, but look for the reason.

·        Don't say "I can do anything" or "I can't do anything".

·        Control your body. Be aware of its tensions.

·        Control your mind. Be aware of what you are thinking.

·        Don't be a prisoner of time (past and future).

·        Live the present moment with pleasure by being aware of it.

·        Eat a balanced diet. Don't eat just to get full.

·        Make time for sports, do exercise.

·        Take deep breaths outdoors.

·        Be aware of your habits.

·        Don't leave today's work for tomorrow.

·        Leave work-related thoughts there when you leave work.

·        Take time for a vacation.

·        Don't suppress your anger. Express yourself appropriately.

·        Know how to politely say "No" to something you don't like.

It should not be forgotten that stress is a relative concept. The more we allow it, the more it can wear us out.

Breath

Breath means life. The first thing a newborn baby does is breathe. Most people, without knowing what proper breathing is and why it is necessary, take reflexive breaths just to survive. Why is breathing, which seems like a simple thing, so important? Breath contains basic needs for both the body and the mind.

Prana, which is mentioned in Sanskrit texts, can be translated as breath or universal cosmic energy. Here, we become aware of the dimensions of breathing, that is, this process that is often overlooked but has a universal meaning. In Eastern traditions, breathing is seen as different from a simple process of air intake and output. Even though all people in the world breathe in the same mixture of gases, the ways of breathing are also an important factor.

Meditation

Meditation is a way of knowing oneself through awareness, which is common in Far Eastern cultures such as Tibet, China, India, Japan, and Thailand. In other words, it is being an observer without intervening in the mechanism called the mind, which never stops and is not yet understood and is not very possible to understand, and without entering into its direction, that is, without entering into the past and future, and only remaining in the present moment.

In passive meditation (ZEN), which is done in a quiet place with eyes closed and sitting upright, nothing is actually done. In other words, it is a moment of inactivity. It is the state of being alone with one's own existence. It can also be summarized as conscious sleep. In active meditation, there is any action done with awareness. This can be controlled or automatic breathing, dancing, yoga, exercise, or washing the dishes. Over time, the state of meditation is also applied to our daily tasks and brings awareness to the events that occur around us. By increasing awareness, we get rid of the guidance of the mind and environmental conditions and enter a position where we use ourselves as we wish.

Chi Kung

Chi (Qi) energy is found in the body of every living being. It flows in the body in a balanced and orderly manner within its own channels. When this flow stops, the living being dies. The flow slows down due to blockages and dirt in the channels. Diseases also result from the chi balance in the body being disrupted. By clearing the blockages and balancing the chi flow, the living being regains its health. The most important thing to remember is that “Chi” can be directed by the mind. There are statements that Chi energy is bioenergy. It is likened to the electrical energy that powers the body. Thus, we can see the aura as the electromagnetic field surrounding the body.

"There is nothing softer and weaker than water; but there is nothing like it in warfare with the hard and strong! For there is nothing that can take its place.
